Columbia University couldn’t be located in a more demilitarized zone. I’m surprised that there isn’t a weekly blotter in the student newspaper in regards to student muggings or other horrible crimes just outside the stone gates of the university. I understand why, I’m sure the University wants to keep that kind of thing on the DL, and does anything to make sure that shit doesn’t get publicized, but everyone knows its there. It has to be. There isn’t anything going on inside campus. The picture I have in my head is if any the locals want to get in, they come at the walls like zombies groaning for the wealth and brains of the brightest kids in the city with the big walls that encircle the campus being the only thing to protect us. To keep them out and us in. The border wall is probably better secured than the Mexico/American border.
